to Achievement
FROM GROWING UP IN GROUP HOMES, ALWAYS IN TROUBLE, HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUT, AND A TEEN MOM...
Before I get into my professional background...
I want to share with you where I come from and what has driven my desire to have an impact on others. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in group homes and always seemed to be in trouble—mostly due to my own doing.
Eventually, I ended up as a high school dropout and teen mom. After having my second child, I quickly realized I wasn’t able to provide the bare minimum, let alone what I wanted to. From that point forward, I decided to do whatever it took to create a life where my children could thrive and one that would make my family proud.
Shortly after that realization, I became one of the youngest traders on Wall Street at 19 years old. The Series 7 exam, required to be a stockbroker, was the third hardest exam in the United States at the time. I passed it on my first try among peers from Ivy League schools like Harvard and Brown. For the first time in my life, I realized that anything was possible, no matter how far-fetched it seemed.
I continued with my corporate career, finding creative ways to grow companies in highly regulated markets. Those days felt like a marketing boot camp, preparing me for where I am today.
I was exposed to top industry leaders and learned firsthand how to start and rebuild companies, influence brand perception, and create campaigns that changed entire industries.
